Great American Insurance Group is inviting a Claims Intern (Spring 2027) to provide administrative and project support within the Claims team. The role blends office-based tasks with virtual collaboration, offering hands-on exposure to claims processes and systems in a dynamic environment.

The position requires 16 hours per week during business hours with in-office training during the initial period, based in downtown Cincinnati for a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Pursuing degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Business or related disciplines encouraged to apply.
• Available to work a minimum of 16 hours per week during business hours, with full availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Demonstrates strong communication, analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
• Brings an energetic, outgoing, and collaborative approach to working with others.
• Proven leadership skills through work experience (internships/co-ops), campus involvement, and/or extracurricular activities.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working effectively in both in-office and virtual environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide project and administrative support to Claims staff to help facilitate efficient claims operations.
• Manage incoming document mailboxes and add supporting documentation and vendor reports to electronic claim files.
• Review, enter, and process vendor invoices for payment within established authority levels.
• Prepare and distribute correspondence to appropriate parties.
• Learn and use claims systems, databases, and other business applications to complete assigned work.
• Maintain accurate and organized claim documentation and records.
• Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders while supporting claims-related activities.
• Participate in special projects and additional assignments as needed.
