Job summary

Alter Trading Corporation in Sardis, MS seeks a Shredder Manager to oversee safe, efficient shredding and ferrous operations on one shift. You will work with the Facility Manager to set schedules and budgets, drive safety initiatives, and manage maintenance and transportation functions.

The role focuses on leadership, cost control, and continuous improvement in a heavy manufacturing environment, with strong emphasis on teamwork and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Safety and environmental compliance leadership.
• Sets daily/ monthly production goals with Facility Manager.
• Monitors budgets and operating costs for shredding ops.
• Identifies new tech for future shredder use.
• Coordinates trucking and rail transport for shredding.
• Directs maintenance activities to improve availability and costs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety programs and regulatory compliance.
• Plan and schedule production targets and workflows.
• Track performance with metrics and adjust operations accordingly.
• Manage maintenance and emergency repairs for the shredder.
• Supervise production staff, including staffing and development.
• Collaborate with Marketing to price scrap and maintain customer relations.
