Job summary

Walt Disney Imagineering invites qualified engineering students to join as a Show Mechanical Engineering Intern in Orlando, FL. The role focuses on the development of animatronic figures, show action equipment and related systems across the design and manufacturing lifecycle.

Interns will work with design engineering, machine design and analysis, engaging in 3D modeling, calculations and documentation. The program emphasizes hands-on growth within themed entertainment engineering.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering program (Mechanical, Aerospace or Engineering Mechanics).
• Be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work without sponsorship.
• Have unrestricted work authorization and currently enrolled in classes or Disney program.
• Availability for multiple shifts as project demands may require.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components under supervision.
• Create models and drawings in SolidWorks.
• Perform loads, stress analysis and component sizing calculations.
• Provide production support for animated figures and show action equipment.
• Support testing and commissioning of show equipment.
• Generate drawings and engineering reports to document designs.
