Job summary

RWE Supply & Trading seeks a Short-Term Gas Trader to optimize North American gas positions. You will evaluate market fundamentals, trade physically and financially, and coordinate with scheduling and analytics teams to maximize value while controlling risk.

The role requires 3+ years in natural gas trading, strong quantitative skills, and familiarity with data platforms (Genscape/Enverus). Applicants should be adept at rapid decision-making in a dynamic market.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in natural gas trading or related commercial roles.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and coding basics.
• Knowledge of U.S. natural gas markets, hubs, and cross-commodity dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Actively trade and optimize short-term natural gas positions across North American markets.
• Identify and execute opportunities across prompt, day-ahead and intra-day markets.
• Collaborate with power traders to incorporate cross-commodity dynamics into decisions.
• Monitor pipeline constraints and operational events affecting trading opportunities.
• Manage exposures within risk limits and contribute to P&L through position management.
• Contribute to trading analytics, dashboards and tools for market visibility.
