Job summary

Sun Life U.S. is seeking a claims professional to join the Group Benefits Claims Shared Services team. The role focuses on short term disability claim setup and producing a high volume of tasks with priorities adjusted for client impact.

You will review STD documents, set up claims in Ultera, CHESS and GCS, and support Case Managers with adjudication-related tasks while contributing to departmental initiatives and training new hires.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft applications (MS Excel, MS Word).
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Review new Short Term Disability (STD) documents and set up claims in systems.
• Create claim files, follow up for missing information, and provide support to Case Managers.
• Assist with administrative tasks surrounding adjudication of claims.
• Participate in department initiatives and cross-team projects.
• Serve as SME for new hires and provide training as needed.
• Provide input to management on business processes.
