Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking a shore-based Marine Tankerman to operate around the lower Ohio/Nashville area, transferring fuels on barges, vessels, and terminals in line with USCG regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• USCG MMC with Tankerman-PIC endorsement and TWIC are required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
• Willingness to travel up to 200 miles from base location.

Responsibilities

• Conduct barge transfers per MPC procedures and USCG regulations.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on barges.
• Operate heaters on hot oil barges and manage transfer times.
• Maintain transfer records and ensure uniforms/equipment are ready for transfers.
• May train new Tankermen and assist in safety initiatives.
• Interface with customers per MPC policies.
