Job summary

Marathon Petroleum's Catlettsburg, Kentucky shore-based Marine Tankerman role reports to the Marine Tankering Services Supervisor. Tankermen transfer barges, troubleshoot minor issues, and perform routine maintenance on barges and hot oil systems, following MPC procedures and USCG regulations in all weather and shifts.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, MMC with Tankerman-PIC (Barge), a dangerous liquids license, a valid TWIC, USCG medical certificate,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have valid driver’s license and transportation.
• MMC Tankerman-PIC (Barge) endorsement and DL qualification.
• USCG medical certificate and TWIC required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct barge transfers per MPC procedures and USCG regulations.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on barges.
• Maintain transfer records and equipment in good condition.
• Interface with customers and support safety/training activities.
• Participate in audits and training of other Tankermen.
