Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company (MPC) is seeking a shore-based Marine Tankerman to support operations from Catlettsburg, KY. You will transfer barges, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure compliance with USCG rules while coordinating with the Marine Tankering Services Supervisor.

The role requires a valid MMC Tankerman-PIC (Barge), TWIC, and the ability to travel to nearby locations. A strong safety mindset and reliable transportation are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid US driver's license and reliable transportation.
• USCG MMC with Tankerman-PIC (Barge) endorsement and TWIC card.
• Pass pre-employment drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct barge transfers based on MPC procedures and USCG regulations.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on barges.
• Operate heaters on hot oil barges and document transfer times.
• Interface with customers and assist in training new Tankermen.
