Mobile Trailer Technician II to perform scheduled inspections, light repairs, and assist with more advanced repairs under supervision. This is an on-site position, not for emergency roadside repairs. Responsibilities include performing DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs on trailer systems, and maintaining safety standards. The role involves working at customer sites, managing inventory, documenting work, and adhering to safety and organizational policies.
Duties- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration equipment, trucks, and trailers.
- Diagnose and repair components like compressors, coils, and electrical parts.
- Follow safety procedures and manage parts inventory.
- Operate company vehicles and conduct safety checks.
- Document work and communicate effectively with management and clients.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, using hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Maintain safety standards and participate in safety training.
- Assist with diagnostics and minor repairs on trailers and systems.
Requirements- High School Diploma or GED, with 3+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
- Own a set of hand tools necessary for the job.
- Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
- Obtain 608/609 certifications within 18 months.
- Pass a DOT background check, physical, and hold a valid DOT medical card.
- Must be at least 21 years old, with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Additional certifications and skills are preferred, including ASE 608/609, T4, T5, T6, T7. The role requires physical ability to perform manual tasks and effective communication skills.
