Job Description: Mobile Trailer Technician II

Overview: Fleet Services by Cox Automotive, headquartered in Indianapolis, is a leading provider of mobile fleet maintenance and repair services nationwide. We are seeking a dedicated Mobile Trailer Technician II to join our team. This on-site position focuses on performing certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, and more at customer locations. This role offers an opportunity for growth and skill development under supervision of senior technicians.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration equipment, trucks, and trailers, including DOT inspections.
  2. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, including compressors, coils, and electrical components.
  3. Manage parts inventory and operate company vehicle safely, conducting pre/post-trip inspections.
  4. Document work using company standards and upload pictures via company devices.
  5. Communicate effectively with clients, management, and support teams.
  6. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on trailer systems and equipment.
  7. Follow all safety, health, and environmental policies and federal regulations.
  8. Maintain good relationships with customers and vendors.
  9. Participate in required safety training and maintain up-to-date certifications.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. At least 3 years' experience with refrigerated equipment.
  3. Possession of necessary hand tools.
  4. Ability to pass DOT background screening and physical.
  5. Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  6. Ability to perform physical tasks and work independently.
Preferred Certifications:
  • ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
  • Additional ASE certifications (608/609, T4, T5, T6, T7) are a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:

Hourly pay ranges from $26.06 to $39.13, depending on experience and location. Benefits include paid time off, holidays, and other leave entitlements. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
