Job summary

Quality Repair Solutions (QRS) in Geismar, LA is seeking an energetic Shop Helper to support mechanics in preventive maintenance and repairs on tractor and trailer units in accordance with DOT and company standards. This role offers stability in a growing company with opportunities across multiple locations.

We provide weekly pay ranging from $22 to $25 per hour, plus benefits such as medical, dental, and vision plans, a 401(k) match, and generous paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; trade or technical school graduate.
• 1–2 years of basic maintenance and/or mechanic experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventive maintenance inspections on tractors and cargo tank trailers.
• Assist with moderate to complex repairs on engines, drive trains, brakes, suspension, hydraulic, fuel, cooling, electrical systems, and related power equipment.
• Connect, monitor, and disconnect steam to the heating coils of a loaded cargo tank.
• Document heating operations on a steam log.
• Verify product name on the bill of lading matches the SDS before steam operations.
