Job summary

Quality Repair Solutions (QRS®) in Geismar, LA is seeking a Shop Helper to assist mechanics with preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on tractors and cargo tank trailers. You will help with engines, drive trains, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and electrical systems, while documenting work in the maintenance software and assisting with housekeeping duties.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years of basic maintenance or mechanic experience, and a valid

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; trade or technical school graduate preferred.
• 1–2 years of basic maintenance and/or mechanic experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanics in preventive maintenance inspections on tractors and cargo tank trailers.
• Assist with moderate to complex repairs on engines, drive trains, brakes, suspension, and hydraulic systems.
• Document heating operations and steam activities in the steam log; ensure product name matches SDS and bill of lading.
• Maintain housekeeping duties in terminal and shop facilities as directed by the Shop Manager.
• Operate and use standard hand and power tools as needed.
• Support compliance with DOT, federal, and state regulations and company standards.
