Job summary

Simmers Crane Design & Services, part of Flatiron Crane, is seeking a hands-on technician to assemble, repair, and maintain overhead cranes, hoists, and related components in our Buffalo shop. Candidates should read mechanical and electrical blueprints, test systems, and work safely with tools and equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical school preferred).
  • 1-3 years of experience in mechanical or electrical repair (crane industry experience is a plus).
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems (AC/DC motors, controls, wiring).
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other shop equipment (certification preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.

Job Summary
