Job summary

Aggreko, LLC is seeking a Shop Technician 2 - Power based in Smyrna, TN. You will work at the Smyrna service center, performing preventive maintenance and repairs on generators, HVAC and related equipment, with opportunities for overtime and weekends.

You will read schematics, calculate tonnage/kW needs, and troubleshoot outages, while maintaining focus on safety and quality on brand-new technology. A strong technician mindset and physical stamina are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 3+ years on diesel generators or HVAC equipment.
• Experience calculating nominal/effective tonnage or kW; ability to read schematics.
• Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, chillers, HVAC equipment and/or oil-free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop.

Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Shop Technician 2 - Power based in Smyrna, TN. Power without pause. Heating, cooling and oil-free air without end. We keep our customers’ worlds on. What you’ll do:

You’ll be based out of our Smyrna, TN. service center. You’ll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, Chillers, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors. Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop.

You are:

• High School diploma/GED 3+ years of experience working on diesel power/natural gas generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, chillers, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

Other essential job requirements:

• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladder
