Job summary

Stotz Equipment is seeking a Shop Tech II/Diesel Mechanic to diagnose and repair diesel engines, small engines, and agricultural equipment in a fast-paced shop. You will work with a skilled team to ensure repairs meet safety and quality standards, with a focus on first-time right execution.

The role requires 3–5 years of diesel/small engine experience, tool ownership, and solid diagnostic skills. You will handle records, customer communications, and adherence to safety and manufacturer specs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; formal training preferred.
  • 3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel and small gas engines.
  • Must own and maintain a full set of tools.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including diagnostic software and repair documentation.
  • Clean driving record and ability to comply with DOT regulations as applicable.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer and dealer-owned equipment independently.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools.
  • Assemble and perform maintenance on various types of equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and parts used.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding repair status and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Service Manager or Shop Foreman when guidance or escalation is needed.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety protocols and manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Support team efforts by sharing knowledge and assisting colleagues as needed.
