Job summary

Stotz Equipment is seeking a Shop Tech I / Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a range of equipment from small engines to agricultural machinery. This in-shop role may include occasional field support, aiming for safe, efficient, and high-quality work.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of diesel/gas engine experience, own a full toolset, and can read diagnostics and manuals. Strong communication with customers is required and John Deere experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience as a mechanic on small engines, diesel and gas engines, and small components.
• Must own and maintain a complete set of professional tools.
• Basic computer skills for diagnostic and documentation purposes.
• Ability to operate diagnostic tools and read manuals.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer and dealer-owned equipment.
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards of quality.
• Use diagnostic tools and manuals to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Make repairs accurately and effectively.
• Engage with customers to explain repairs and provide updates.
