Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Shop Support Engineer to serve as the primary engineering liaison at the East Peoria Assembly Plant, including Building SS and Building LL. You will provide direct technical support to manufacturing, operations, quality, and product engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient assembly of track-type tractors.

You will resolve production issues, investigate quality concerns, support root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Agricultural or related engineering field.
• Several years of experience in machine design, product development, and manufacturing support.
• Strong communication and collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as engineering liaison for East Peoria assembly operations for product design and manufacturing issues.
• Troubleshoot production, engineering, and quality concerns using root cause analysis.
• Lead communication of engineering changes, deviations, and CPAs to maintain production flow.
• Represent Engineering on the Material Review Committee and support disposition decisions.
• Analyze data to identify trends and drive design or process improvements.
