Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria, IL, is seeking a Shop Support Engineer to serve as the primary engineering liaison for the East Peoria Assembly Plant, including Building SS and Building LL.

You will provide direct technical support to manufacturing, operations, quality and product engineering to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality tractor assembly. As a link between design engineering and manufacturing, you will resolve production issues, lead root-cause analysis, coordinate engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field is required or equivalent experience.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills are essential.
• Experience with manufacturing support in heavy equipment or industrial production environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary engineering liaison for East Peoria assembly operations, providing direct support for product design, manufacturing, and assembly-related issues.
• Troubleshoot production, engineering, and quality concerns using structured root cause analysis and drive corrective/preventive actions.
• Lead communication and implementation of engineering deviations, product changes, and configuration updates to maintain production continuity.
