Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Decatur, Illinois seeks a Manager of Product Support for Off-Highway Trucks to lead a technical team focused on quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. You will drive CPI programs, root cause analyses, and corrective actions across the product lifecycle.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, NPI/NSI, APU, and dealer networks to improve build quality, reduce downtime, and support global customers. This role requires strong leadership and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or related technical discipline.
• Experience with heavy equipment, industrial machinery, engines or mining equipment.
• Experience with warranty analytics, quality systems, and field service operations.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Decatur Off-Highway Truck Product Support team, delivering technical leadership and product support across the lifecycle.
• Drive product quality and reliability initiatives for Decatur-built machines through defect reduction and CPI programs.
• Lead complex technical problem-solving, root cause investigations, and cross-functional corrective action implementation.
• Improve Defects Per Unit (DPU) at 0, 2, and 12 MIS checkpoints to deliver defect-free machines.
• Represent Product Support in NPI, NSI and APU reviews to ensure quality actions and product improvements.
• Partner with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and value chain teams to enhance build quality and manufacturing execution.
• Collaborate with regional product support teams, Caterpillar dealers and customers to diagnose field issues and improve machine performance.
• Accelerate implementation of product improvements and preventive actions to increase uptime and reduce warranty costs.
• Establish performance standards and accountability for continuous improvement and a defect-free customer experience.
• Coach and develop a team of technical professionals and foster collaboration and continuous learning.
