Job summary

Wheeler Machinery in Vernal, UT is seeking a qualified Shop Service Technician to perform diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar equipment. You will help minimize customer downtime and gain experience with Caterpillar systems and repairs.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, advanced diesel repair experience, proficiency with Cat Electronic Technician, SIS Web, DBS and SIMSI, and the ability to work with customers and a team,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Advanced equipment and diesel repair experience.
• Experienced with safely diagnosing, maintaining, repairing Caterpillar mining equipment.
• Proficient with Caterpillar service software programs e.g., Cat Electronic Technician, SIS Web, DBS and SIMSI
• Must have necessary hand, pneumatic and electrical diagnostic tools (up to ¾" drive).
• Ability and willingness to work closely with customers and a team.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as needed.
• Attention and focus on detail and quality.
• Maintain a clean work area and contamination control expectations.
• Self-motivated and able to always work safely with limited supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Utilize and comply with company and customer site safety programs, processes and procedures.
• Adhere to company and site lock-out-tag-out requirements.
• Communicate with supervisor and Wheeler Machinery personnel daily.
• Ability to diagnose electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Accurately and effectively identify and order replacement parts and components.
• Produce quality repairs while adhering to schedules and deadlines.
• Understand and meet flat-rate expectations.
• Deliver accurate and timely service reports, core returns and warranty documents.
• Maintain a professional and proper personal appearance following company policy.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
