Job summary

Wheeler Machinery Co. seeks a Shop Service Technician for our Vernal, UT location to diagnose, maintain and repair Caterpillar and other equipment. You will support safe field and shop work, order parts, and deliver thorough service reports to minimize downtime.

Your background includes advanced diesel repair, CAT software proficiency, and strong teamwork with customers and staff. Overtime, weekends and on-call work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of advanced equipment and diesel repair experience.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing Caterpillar mining equipment safely.
• Proficiency with CAT service software: Cat ET, SIS Web, DBS, SIMSI.
• Strong attention to detail and safety, ability to work with customers and team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Accurately identify and order replacement parts.
• Deliver accurate service reports, core returns and warranty documents.
• Adhere to safety programs and lock-out-tag-out requirements.
• Maintain a clean work area and meet schedules and deadlines.
• Communicate with supervisor and Wheeler Machinery personnel daily.
