Job Purpose

The Shop Service Technician will be responsible for performing planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, and troubleshooting on various models of Linde, Baoli, and competitive brands of forklifts and material handling equipment. A background or experience in maintaining Lift Trucks / Forklifts is REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics
• Repair or replace major system components, including electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, LPG systems, power steering, transmissions, and engines with limited supervision
• Identify and order necessary replacement parts
• Troubleshoot and diagnose truck components
• Perform engine tune-ups on various equipment without supervision
• Perform timely and proper preventive maintenance (PMs)
• Diagnose complex electrical systems on internal combustion and electric trucks
• Use and maintain all special and normal tools properly
• Assist with training and mentoring apprentice mechanics
• Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times, including at customer sites
• Provide excellent customer service, representing the company professionally
• Collaborate across HTX Material Handling to serve customers effectively
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• High school diploma, G.E.D., or technical training
• 2-5 years of experience in repair and maintenance of industrial equipment or machines
• Valid driver's license and good driving record
• Ability to repair equipment according to skill level
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
• Fluent in English; Spanish skills are a plus

Work Environment

Employees may encounter moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and various weather conditions. Exposure to wet/humid environments, extreme cold, heat, electrical shock, and vibration is possible. The typical noise level is medium to loud.
