Job summary

McKinstry in Seattle is seeking a Program Manager to lead full program lifecycle—from award to closeout—serving as the primary liaison between internal McKinstry stakeholders and external Shop customers. You will manage scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality while driving customer satisfaction and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities cover program controls, cross-functional coordination, and financial management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, construction management, project management or manufacturing.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in project management, manufacturing operations, or construction; or equivalent combination.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project controls or manufacturing operations leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal McKinstry and external Shop customers on Scope, Schedule, Quality, Cost, Risk, and Customer Satisfaction.
  • Develop strategies to ensure safe, on-time, on-budget delivery with high customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the full program lifecycle from award through closeout, including start, execution, and closeout materials.
  • Communicate program status, risks, and mitigation plans to customers and internal leadership.
  • Align customer expectations on capacity, delivery schedules, contract terms, and conditions.
  • Lead and facilitate customer-facing meetings with structured agendas and follow-up actions.
  • Ensure capital, materials, manpower, and production plans meet demand.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and scopes of work; define responsibilities across teams.
  • Identify resource requirements and develop manpower plans with shop leadership.
  • Capture and deliver on customer quality requirements including RCCA.
  • Monitor progress, anticipate problems, and drive corrective actions.
  • Provide shop leadership with insight into capital and resource needs.
  • Assume full financial responsibility for programs, including forecasting and reporting.
  • Evaluate bid estimates, establish budgets, monitor financial performance.
  • Prepare and negotiate change orders; manage logs.
  • Facilitate invoicing and subcontractor payments.
  • Assess job cost impacts and ensure timely purchasing.
  • Draft subcontracts and purchase agreements.
  • Clear roadblocks and coordinate cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Shop, Engineering, Quality, Safety, and Commercial.
  • Respond to RFPs and assist in bids.
  • Assess safety risks and implement actions to prevent injuries.
  • Identify process improvements and track KPIs with teams and customers.
  • McKinstry University and Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
