Job summary

PowerTec Distribution & Motor Control Corporation in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Shop Production Manager to lead the shop floor, coordinating machining, fabrication, painting, assembly, and electrical work for low and medium voltage equipment. You will oversee tool usage, safety, quality, and on-time delivery while guiding shop personnel.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/engineering and 3–5 years of production leadership, including steel fabrication.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
3–5 years of production management experience; 1–3 years in steel/bus fabrication.
Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and ERP/WMS systems.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and execute manufacturing operations on the shop floor.
Manage machine shop, fabrication, painting, assembly, and electrical departments.
Ensure safety compliance and quality standards are met.
Schedule staff, monitor productivity, and optimize workflows.
Ensure on-time delivery and target attainment for all projects.
Balance manpower and resources across multiple projects.
Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
Maintain ERP/MRP workflows and material transactions.
