Job summary

Aggreko in Odessa, TX is seeking a Shop Technician 2 Power to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical distribution equipment, HVAC systems, and oil-free air compressors. You will troubleshoot shop equipment and may work alone or with a team to set up and operate equipment for customers.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years of relevant experience, the ability to read schematics, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with power generators or commercial HVAC equipment.
• Ability to read schematics and understand nominal/actual tonnage or kW requirements.
• Valid driver’s license; may require TWIC or DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Based in the Odessa, TX service center and perform preventive maintenance and repairs of electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment, and oil-free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures in the shop and assist with on-site setup and operation as needed.
• Work solo or with a team of technicians to service customer equipment and meet schedule needs.

What you'll do:

• You’ll be based out of our Odessa, TX service center.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and/or oil free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop.
• You will either be out on your own or teamed up with other technician(s) to set up and operate equipment in the shop.

You are:

• High School diploma/GED
• 5+ years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics.
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

Other essential job requirements

• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
