Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience using equipment maintenance or repair software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair work on company equipment, including heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, and develop solutions to resolve them.
  • Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance to apprentice and junior mechanics, helping develop diagnostic, repair, and preventative maintenance skills while promoting safe and efficient work practices.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure that all equipment-related activities are carried out in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and equipment manufacturers, negotiating contracts and resolving any issues in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain equipment-related reports and metrics, and communicate equipment-related information to stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements in equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Shop Mechanic Lead to join our Equipment team. As a key member of our Equipment division, the Mechanic will work closely with other departments and stakeholders to ensure the efficient and effective use of company resources.
