Clean Harbors Kingston, MA is seeking a Shop Manager to lead daily manufacturing and production activities at a state-of-the-art facility. You will drive schedules, quality, safety, and cost targets while guiding supervisors, technicians, and support staff to maximize efficiency and continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes lean manufacturing, waste reduction, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, procurement, maintenance, and logistics teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing and operations management.
• 5+ years of management experience in manufacturing, trucking, heavy equipment, automotive, or transportation industries.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, quality systems, six sigma, and lean manufacturing.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct daily manufacturing activities.
• Manage production schedules to meet delivery requirements.
• Supervise production supervisors, technicians, and staff.
• Monitor productivity, labor utilization, and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, safety standards.
• Implement lean manufacturing and waste reduction initiatives.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, maintenance, and logistics teams.
• Maintain quality control for trucks and assemblies.
• Analyze production data and develop corrective actions.
• Manage departmental budgets and control costs.
• Support preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Train, coach, and evaluate staff.
