Job description

O'Neil's Glass is growing our team of glass professionals. Working in our shop means solving customer problems or bringing their vision to life whether it be replacing a single pane of glass or creating a custom mirror. Are you a jack of all trades type? Do you enjoy working with your hands? If variety is what you seek, then this could be for you! The Shop Lead Assistant will assist the supervisor in overseeing shop activities, maintaining productivity, reminding team of safety protocols, and resolving problems and conflicts that may arise.

Position can be full or part time. If part time, health insurance and other benefits are not applicable.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain good working relationships and collaborate with other necessary team members to ensure all site and team activities are in sync
• Ensure orders are completed accurately, on time, and on budget for cut and IG buckets
• Use company vehicles for delivery runs including Grabill for timeliness
• Perform periodic quality checks to maintain workmanship and assure work matches specifications
• Unload and store materials delivered from distributors
• Assist in facility maintenance (clean the bathrooms/breakroom and lawn maintenance)
• Assist in reviewing all shop activities and work equipment to ensure tasks are performed to company standards as well as to the latest OSHA regulations and standards
• Assist with weekly team meetings including Toolbox Talks and maintain OSHA documentation
• Maintain proper inventory levels of shop materials (glass, mirror, caulk, etc.) and reorder as needed
• Track and account for company tools/equipment and PPE including forklift being fully charged daily
• Repair/replace shop tools and equipment as needed
• Maintain proper maintenance, repair and cleanliness on shop related vehicles
• Responsible for daily closing duties for the shop team as posted by each door

Requirements:

• Three years' experience in a leadership position preferred
• Handyperson experience
• Must be able to read a tape measure to a 1/16"
• Valid Driver's License
• Able to give direction and make sound decisions
• Ability to work in high-stress conditions and quickly changing environments

Physical Requirements:

• Exposure to characteristic shop and construction site dangers
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
