Job summary

APAC-AL, Inc., part of CRH's South Division, is seeking a parts and courier handler to manage receiving, organizing, and issuing parts in our Alabama operation. You will maintain inventory records and ensure accurate transactions to support maintenance and field crews.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, valid driver's license, and some experience in construction or maintenance parts. We offer competitive pay and benefits in a safety-focused work environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
  • Basic computer and inventory-system proficiency.
  • Ability to count, track, and document materials accurately.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and move parts and supplies as required.
  • Previous experience in a construction, asphalt, equipment, maintenance, or parts environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and organize incoming parts, materials, tools, and supplies.
  • Maintain inventory records in the company's inventory management system.
  • Issue parts, materials, and tools to employees and document all transactions.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify items that need to be reordered.
  • Conduct routine and periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe parts/warehouse area.
  • Properly label, store, and track inventory to ensure items are easily located.
  • Process purchase orders, packing slips, invoices, and receiving documentation.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, shop, purchasing, and operations personnel regarding parts and supply needs.
  • Track parts used for equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Return incorrect, damaged, or unused parts to vendors as needed.
  • Monitor obsolete, excess, or slow-moving inventory.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of tools, equipment, lubricants, and other shop supplies.
  • Assist with maintaining minimum and maximum inventory levels.
  • Prepare inventory reports and provide information regarding shortages, usage, and purchasing needs.
  • Follow company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires the individual to perform a variety of duties related to running parts and courier both internally and externally for the company.
