Job summary

Crown Technical Systems in Dallas, Texas, is seeking a Shop Helper to support structural welding operations on the production floor. You will assist with prepping, grinding, sanding, cleaning sheet metal and steel, and help machine operators and welders to complete fabrication.

This role offers Monday–Friday shift 4:00 PM–12:30 AM and requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with manufacturing experience, emphasizing safety and PPE compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or related field.
• Knowledge of manufacturing, equipment maintenance, and safety management.
• Prolonged periods of standing, bending, kneeling, and performing repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Cut material in preparation for fabrication or processing.
• Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter, using hand scrapers or power chippers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment.
• Assist machine operators (press brake, punch press, and laser) with loading and unloading items from the machines.
• Assist welders with structural welds by holding materials in place.
• Transfer raw materials, finished products, tools, or equipment between work areas on the production floor using powered equipment (ex. Forklifts).
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.
