BrownContracting, Inc. is seeking a dependable Shop Hand/Small Tool Mechanic to join our Eugene/Sherwood, Oregon team. You will assist our experienced mechanic with daily shop activities, perform basic maintenance on small tools and equipment, and help keep the shop organized and ready for field crews.

Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, take pride in their work, and are eager to learn. Prior shop experience is a plus but not required; we are willing to train the right person for

Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined and enjoys fixing and working on things.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
• Dependable and willing to work hard.
• Self-motivated and able to stay productive without constant supervision.
• Willing to learn new skills and take direction.
• Takes pride in keeping tools, equipment, and the shop clean and organized.
• Good attention to detail.
• Previous experience in construction, automotive, equipment maintenance, or a shop environment is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist our mechanic with daily shop activities and repairs.
• Perform basic maintenance and repair on small powertools and equipment.
• Clean, inspect, and maintain tools and equipment.
• Help diagnose basic mechanical problems.
• Perform routine maintenances such as oil changes, greasing, filter changes, and other basic service.
• Organize and maintain shop tools, parts, and supplies.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and putting away parts and supplies.
• Perform daily and weekly inspections and report any issues.
• Assist with larger equipment and vehicle repairs as training and experienced develop.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
