POSITION SUMMARY

Driven Services is seeking a dependable and hardworking Shop Hand to join our team. The Shop Hand will support daily shop and yard operations by assisting with equipment maintenance, cleaning, organization, loading and unloading materials, and general shop duties.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, takes pride in their work, follows safety procedures, and is willing to learn. This is a hands-on position that requires someone who can work independently while also being a strong team player.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist mechanics and technicians with routine maintenance and repairs.
• Perform general cleaning and upkeep of trucks, trailers, equipment, tools, and shop areas.
• Maintain an organized and clean shop and yard.
• Load and unload equipment, tools, materials, and supplies.
• Assist with moving and positioning trucks, trailers, and equipment when needed.
• Perform basic mechanical tasks under supervision.
• Assist with inspections and identify equipment issues that may require attention.
• Maintain tools and shop equipment in good working condition.
• Assist with oil changes, greasing, fluid checks, and other routine maintenance as directed.
• Help prepare equipment for jobs and ensure equipment is returned to the proper location.
• Dispose of trash, debris, and used materials properly.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Assist other departments and team members as needed.
• Perform additional duties assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Previous shop, mechanic, equipment, construction, or industrial experience is preferred but not required.
• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
• Must be dependable and have a strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
• Must be able to work safely around trucks, heavy equipment, tools, and shop machinery.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be willing to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to pass applicable pre-employment requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is a physically demanding, hands-on position. The employee must be able to:

• Lift and carry materials and equipment as needed.
• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
• Work around heavy trucks, trailers, and equipment.
• Safely operate basic shop tools and equipment.
• Work both indoors and outdoors.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
