Job summary

CCL Global is seeking a Shop Foreman – Power Generation in East Houston, TX to lead daily shop operations while remaining hands-on with diagnostics, repairs and testing. This on-site leadership role requires 10+ years in power generation, strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and experience with diesel and natural gas engines, control panels, and switchgear.

You will mentor technicians, coordinate workflow, perform load bank testing, and ensure quality and safety in every job.

Shop Foreman – Power Generation | East Houston, TX

We're hiring an experienced Shop Foreman – Power Generation to lead daily shop operations while remaining hands on with diagnostics, repairs, and technical troubleshooting. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned technician looking to step into a leadership role without leaving the tools behind.

Location: East Houston (610 & I-10), TX

Salary: $95,000 to $115,000 + Full Benefits

Employment Type: Direct Hire

What You'll Do

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, inspections, testing, and troubleshooting on power generation equipment.
• Coordinate daily shop workflow and prioritize incoming work.
• Conduct load bank testing, startup verification, operational validation, final quality inspections, and equipment release.
• Mentor and train technicians while maintaining a productive and safe shop environment.
• Serve as a working foreman, spending approximately 70% of your time on the shop floor, 20% on administrative responsibilities, and 10% training and mentoring.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in power generation, industrial maintenance, heavy equipment, diesel or natural gas engine service, marine engines, or a related field.
• Extensive hands on experience with generator diagnostics, repairs, rebuilds, inspections, and testing.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience troubleshooting diesel engines, natural gas engines, generators, transfer switches, switchgear, and related power generation equipment.
• Ability to change generator end voltages, replace breakers, and program generator control panels.
• Strong knowledge of generator controls, governors, ECMs, ECUs, protective shutdown systems, and electrical systems.
• Experience servicing equipment from manufacturers such as Caterpillar, Cummins, Kohler, MTU/Rolls-Royce, Multiquip (MQ), Detroit Diesel, or similar OEMs.
• Solid understanding of diesel and natural gas fuel systems.
• $95,000 to $115,000 annual salary
