Job summary

The Ag Division of Brandt Holdings is seeking a Shop Foreman in Hillsboro, ND to lead a team of John Deere technicians. You will manage repairs, guide diagnostics, and ensure top-notch customer service while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment.

You’ll mentor staff, coordinate with the Service Manager, and may step in as Service Manager when needed. Strong leadership, industry knowledge, and a driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of people management experience.
• Familiarity with John Deere or competitive equipment; strong technology and agronomic trend understanding.
• Knowledge of business, financial, and management practices.
• Exceptional customer relationship skills; rapport and trust.
• Strong communication, verbal and written.
• Flexibility for seasonal hours.
• 3+ years in service repair with strong diagnostic skills.
• Proficient with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems for turf equipment and small engines.
• Ability to perform basic repairs with specialized tools per manuals.
• Experience in team leadership and collaboration.
• Ability to use Service Advisor and MS Office.
• Must have an adequate toolset.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license; ability to lift 75 lbs repeatedly.
• Willingness to work Saturdays/extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of technicians to perform setup, maintenance, and repair of John Deere lawn and garden equipment.
• Assess repair orders with technicians and support repairs as needed.
• Guide diagnosing machine problems for technicians and apprentices.
• Communicate with customers and team to ensure excellent service.
• Maintain inventory, tools, and equipment; keep area clean and safe.
• Support the Service Manager in safety meetings and training.
• Act as Service Manager in their absence.
• Approve release of equipment for delivery to customers.
• Provide performance feedback for staff; track Product Improvement Programs.
• Stay updated on John Deere equipment and competitions.

Position Summary

As the Shop Foreman, you'll lead a team of John Deere Agriculture Technicians and who share a passion for diesl mechanics who strive for excellent customer experience. We're seeking individuals who enjoy working independently as well as developing and coaching other technicians.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform setup, maintenance, and repair tasks for John Deere lawn and garden equipment.
• Participate in assessing repair orders with technicians and supporting repairs as needed.
• Provide guidance and aid in diagnosing machine problems for technicians and apprentices.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure excellent customer service and experience.

• Flexibility to work seasonal hours as required by the demands of the role.
• 3+ years of experience in service repair with strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems relevant to turf equipment and small engines.
• Capability to execute basic repairs and maintenance using specialized tools and equipment, following Technical Manual procedures.
• Experience in team leadership and collaborative teamwork.
• Strong verbal and written communication skillswith team members and customers.
• Ability to use required working applications:Service Advisor, Microsoft Office applications, andother John Deere or business specific systems.
• Mustpossessan adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
• Valid driver's licenserequired.Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
• Willingness to work Saturdays and extended hours during peak business season.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated track record of meeting service performance metrics preferred.
• Leading people or team members (preferably in a Service or Operations role).
• Familiarity with John Deere systems and products.
• Associate's Degree preferred.
