Job summary

Valley Plains Equipment in Hunter, ND is seeking a Service Technician to perform basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on agricultural and turf equipment, with potential in-field service and mentoring.

You’ll work with AMS products, stay updated through training, document work, and uphold safety. Must have HS diploma, valid driver’s license, and at least 1 year of experience; Deere tech cert preferred.

Qualifications

  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks using specialized tools and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
  • Capability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience performing service repairs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

  • Complete all required paperwork and forms using ExpertServices accurately and on time.
  • Track time accurately on a timecard and account for materials used.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and uphold a positive dealer image.

Position Summary

As a Service Technician, you'll be responsible for conducting basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance tasks on both customer and dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. You may also be called upon to provide in-field service to support our customers, with occasional guidance from the Service Manager, Service Location Manager, Shop Foreman, or senior technicians.

  • Initiate self-training opportunities with tools andprovided resources by the dealership.
  • Stay updated on existing products and pursue additional technical and product knowledge through dealership training programs, manufacturer training, and on-the-job learning.
  • Diagnose and support machine systems, including Precision Ag technology.
  • Maintain the condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work area and perform tasks in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations during work assignments.
  • Complete all required paperwork and forms using ExpertServices accurately and on time.
  • Track time accurately on a timecard and account for all materials used in assigned duties.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and uphold a positive dealer image.

Performance Requirements:

  • Meet or exceed effective labor rate goal ~ targeting $160.
  • Maintain a minimum 85% labor performance.
  • Dedicate a minimum of 1 hour per week to work alongside a mentor.
  • Actively complete and stay up to date on all assigned training.
Qualifications

Compensation

The following represents Brandt Holdings compensation estimation based on market data and placement of internal employees. This is ahourly role with a starting base of $20.00 and going up to $42.00 based on experience. This role is also incentive eligible and is based on performance.
