Job summary

Prime Metal Buildings & Components is seeking a Production Assistant to support day-to-day operations in our manufacturing shop and steel yard in Amarillo, Texas. The role involves assisting with material handling, operating basic tools, and maintaining clean, safe work areas on a fast-paced shop floor.

The position requires the ability to read instructions, follow safety rules, and work well with team members to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player.
• Ability for cross training in other areas of the shop.
• Follow safety procedures including proper PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Assist in loading and unloading material from machines.
• Assist operators and drivers in the manufacturing shop and yard.
• Handle and transport materials and equipment within the facility.
• Use power tools and machinery when needed.
• Set out or put away tools when needed.
• Clean up manufacturing areas free of debris, dirt, and hazards.
