Job summary

General Mills seeks a Manufacturing Process and Packaging Engineer (systems role) to lead on-floor troubleshooting, build the team’s packaging and processing skills, and drive improvements to reduce losses and increase throughput.

You will engage in safety culture, process leadership, and foundational systems (CIL, CL, TOO) while collaborating with operators, maintenance, and QA. A BS in engineering and 1+ year experience are preferred, with strong data skills and cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field with applicable experience
• 1+ years of related experience
• Theory and functionality of manufacturing systems and unit operations
• Data and manufacturing performance metrics analysis
• Consumer products or process industry experience
• Food science or process/packaging science experience
• Statistical analysis and analytical methods
• Mechanical aptitude
• General Engineering Principles knowledge
• Demonstrated leadership and collaboration
• Experience with manufacturing data analysis systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo, MQIS) and data-driven decision making

Responsibilities

• Lead safety and risk-reduction on the floor following Safety 2.0 principles
• Troubleshoot and solve on-the-floor issues to build team capability
• Develop and implement Loss Tree and glidepaths for lines/systems
• Support daily operations and foundational systems (CIL, CL, TOO)
• Provide Start-up support to drive execution and improvements
• Collaborate with operators, technicians, maintenance and peers for problem solving
