The role blends Manufacturing Engineering and AI engineering, with ~75% focused on plant AI applications and 25% in manufacturing duties alongside operators and maintenance teams to reflect real process behavior and embed improvements into standard work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience in a high‑mix / high‑volume manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
• Experience building AI agents, AI assistants, LLM‑powered workflows, or similar AI systems strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, EHS, Supply Chain, and Training to identify and prioritize high‑value AI use cases tied to safety, quality, throughput, productivity, and workforce capability.
• Build and manage a plant AI opportunity pipeline with use cases, owners, data needs, timing, and KPIs.
• Lead pilots from concept through shop floor adoption, including data readiness, trial design, operator input, launch, and sustainment.
• Ensure AI solutions are simple, explainable, and usable for operators and supervisors, embedded into standard work.
• Develop and maintain AI-enabled plant applications and dashboards following IT/AI standards.
