Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking an administrative professional to convert engineering data into shop fabrication data and to communicate manufacturing needs to the production line. You will release jobs, create drawings and lists, group drawings by work center, and manage files and schedules in a busy shop environment.

The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a manufacturing office setting.

• Communication - Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with Shop employees and Production Management.
• Technical Skills – Demonstrates thorough understanding of Truss Manufacturing Process.
• Computer Skills - Potential to develop basic computer skills
• Administrative Skills - Must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Performs all clerical tasks associated with releasing a job into the shop, including cut lists, bunking lists, fabrication drawings and electronic files.
• Creates job folders and generates shop drawings.
• Groups shop drawings by work center and batches jobs with cutting reports.
• Simultaneously creates automated saw files and projection fabrication files.
• Releases job to production team and updates scheduling status.
• Edits work order in On-Line Software for shop labor totals.
• Retrieves built information from shop after fabrication and closes production files.
• Performs other routine tasks in the production department.
