Job summary

MGX Equipment Services is seeking a skilled crane technician at our Baltimore, MD facility. The role reports to the Service Manager and involves inspecting, diagnosing and repairing mobile cranes, with a focus on safety and OEM compliance.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting hydraulic/electrical systems, reading schematics, and performing annual inspections. A valid driver’s license is preferred; tools up to 1.5 inches are required, with a strong emphasis on customer service and independent

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of mechanic/technician experience.
Must be able to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
Valid driver’s license preferred; basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate and perform thorough inspection of cranes to diagnose defects.
Diagnose, repair and troubleshoot mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes; repair hydraulic and electrical components.
Inspect parts for damage or wear using micrometers and gauges; read manuals, blueprints and drawings.
Test mechanical, electronic, electrical and hydraulic products after repair to ensure OEM specs.
Prepare for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy.
Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections.
Fill out reports, time sheets and expense reports accurately.
Work independently with limited supervision and provide excellent customer service.
