Job summary

MGX Equipment Services is seeking a skilled Crane Technician to operate, inspect, diagnose, and repair a range of mobile cranes at the Norfolk, VA location. Responsibilities include reading electrical/hydraulic schematics, testing post‑repair equipment, and providing accurate documentation for hours and expenses.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of mechanic/technician experience, strong customer service, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years as Mechanic/Technician.
• Experience with Grove RT & TMS Cranes; Grove GMK European Cranes; Manitowoc EPIC/Traditional; National Boom Trucks preferred.
• Must read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Excellent communication with customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect cranes to diagnose defects.
• Repair and troubleshoot mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes; fix hydraulics/electrical components.
• Read blueprints, manuals, and drawings for parts and procedures.
• Test equipment after repair to ensure OEM specs.
• Fill reports and time sheets accurately.
• Provide independent, customer‑focused service.
