Job summary

U.S. Xpress is seeking a Technician Fleet 1 in SHIPPENSBURG for in-shop maintenance. You will perform routine preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers, inspect brakes and tires, check fluids, and complete work efficiently.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a diesel tech diploma is preferred. Candidates should have at least 1 year of mechanical experience; a diesel tech diploma may substitute for a year of experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma from an accredited Diesel Technology Program preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of mechanical experience preferred.
• A Technical Diploma may substitute for 1 year of experience.
• Experience in the transportation industry preferred.
• Computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers per PM guidelines.
• Perform basic or minor repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring, etc.
• Check vehicle fluids (transmission oil, windshield wiper, antifreeze, etc.).
• Change vehicle tires and grease mechanical parts.
• Maintain high productivity and complete most jobs within SRT times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
