Job summary

MSHS Pacific Power Group in Fort Lauderdale, FL is offering a Shop Assistant Intern position to gain hands-on experience in a marine and power systems shop. The internship runs for 3–6 months, full-time, with a schedule Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:30 PM, and pay ranging from $18.00 to $23.00 per hour.

You will assist lead technicians with engine repairs, support dry dock activities, keep the workspace clean, and learn to handle tools and parts safely under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working in an engine shop, mechanical shop, or similar environment preferred.
• Coursework or certification in engine repair, diesel technology, marine technology, or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in both the shop and dock areas.
• Assist lead technicians with engine repairs and preventative maintenance activities.
• Support dry dock haul-outs and related shop activities.
• Clean and prepare parts removed during engine repairs.

• Travel: minimal travel may be required
• Employment Type: Full‑Time (or part‑time to accommodate school schedule)
• Standard Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM, and overtime and schedule changes may apply
• Pay Range: $18.00 – $23.00 per hour

Primary Responsibilities
