Job summary

MSHS Pacific Power Group is seeking a Marine Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain MTU engines in diverse marine applications around the San Francisco Bay Area.

You will conduct sea trials, verify performance, and document every service event while supporting apprentice technicians and contributing to safety and reliability in defense, first responder, and critical infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in high speed marine engine repair, with strong MTU engine experience.
• Experience with MTU MCS/RCS electronics (preferred).
• Experience with Diasys software (preferred).
• Experience with tools and technical diagnostics.
• Strong laptop/PC skills for diagnostics and software applications.
• Ability to read service manuals and diagnose mechanical issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on MTU engines in various marine applications.
• Conduct sea trials and verify engine performance, making necessary adjustments.
• Maintain service records and documentation for operational efficiency.
• Provide guidance and training to apprentice marine technicians.
• Travel within the assigned region and occasionally outside the area, including potential international assignments.

Salary Range: $56.03 - $62.00 per hour

Travel: Field Position

About the Role:

• Work directly with marine clients, supporting our company’s continued growth in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Preferred Work Experience and Attributes:

• 5+ years of experience in high speed marine engine repair, with strong MTU engine experience.
• Experience with MTU MCS/RCS electronics and Diasys software (preferred).
• Experience with tools and technical diagnostics.
• Strong laptop/PC skills for diagnostics and software applications.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and read service manuals.
• A passion for working within a cross‑functional team environment in a dynamic industry.

Other Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (technical schooling is a plus).
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and ability to be insured.
• Own set of mechanic tools.
• Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is a plus.
• Ability to complete company‑provided manufacturer training (online and in person).

Travel & Mobility:

• Frequent travel within an assigned territory (AOR), with potential travel outside the region.

Salary & Benefits:

Salary: $56.03 to $62.00 per hour , based on skills and experience.
