Description

CEC Motor and Utility Serviceshas an immediate part-time opportunity for aShop Assistantat our Service Center in Palmetto, FL. We are looking for a reliable entry-level person to assist with daily housekeeping tasks in our climate-controlled motor shop.

Hours

• Monday - Friday (part-time, schedule will be determined based on availability. Our hours are 7 am - 3:30 pm.)

Pay Frequency

FLSA Status:

• Non-Exempt
• Climate-controlled shop

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.

Reporting Relationships:

• The Shop Assistant reports to the General Manager

Note:This position requires drug and background screening.

Responsibilities

• Keeps the facility clean and orderly, including, but not limited to, sweeping floors, emptying trash cans, and cleaning parts.
• Cleans and inspects equipment components.
• Organizes and tracks job locations in the warehouse.
• Uses forklift and pallet trucks to load and unload as needed.
• Cleans and maintains safety equipment, instruments, and materials, specific to pump, motor, and equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Operates a variety of equipment and hand and power tools as needed to construct, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment. Maintains and cares for all equipment and tools in his/her care and use. Performs cleaning, and lubricating of tools as required.
• Professionally performs duties and works well with others.
• Observes safe work practices and safety methods; performs other duties as assigned.
• Pick-up and delivery of parts, motors, and pumps in company vehicles as needed.
• Regular, in-person, attendance required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move more than 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
• Mechanical aptitude (preferred).

Compensation

$15 - $18 hourly
