Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
  • Trade school education is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain Navy access badges (DBIDS/NAVSEA).

Responsibilities

  • Successfully complete designated training program(s) and obtain required certifications.
  • Organize and maintain order in stockrooms and material staging areas.
  • Ensure you are trained or qualified for assigned work.
  • Perform job safely and maintain quality control at all times.
  • Demonstrate good housekeeping to keep the site clean and safe.
  • Follow established policies, including timekeeping procedures.
  • Be aware of emergency and evacuation procedures and muster locations.
  • Know and wear appropriate PPE for assigned work.
  • Navigate a ship and understand compartment designation where applicable.
  • Follow directions from lead mechanic and assist as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
