Job summary

Standard Ship Repair in San Diego, CA is seeking a Quality Assurance 2 to support contract QA tasks, design and maintain documentation control, write checkpoints, understand specs, and ensure testing requirements are met.

You will work under the Quality Assurance Supervisor/Manager, perform inspections, review NAVSEA standard items, and create formal work packages, with 40+ hours/week and pre-scheduled overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• In-depth knowledge of quality related contract documentation.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform independent, complex analysis and identify new methods.
• Experience reviewing NAVSEA Standard Items and other contract documentation to ensure Testing/Inspection requirements are met.
• Quality control processes in a shipyard environment (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Get familiarized with NAVSEA Std Items.
• Fill out and call out inspections/checkpoints.
• Attend onsite checkpoints after shadowing senior team members.
• Follow documentation control.
• Create and review Formal Work Packages (FWP) following templates.
• Conduct Surveillances after completing Workmanship Training.
• Execute quality control measures after completing QCI Training.
