Job summary

South Bay Sand Blasting & Tank Cleaning, Inc. seeks an experienced Quality Assurance Inspector to support ship repair operations, including preservation and non-skid work aboard U.S. Navy and commercial vessels.

The role demands hands-on QA/QC, NAVSEA standard item knowledge, and thorough documentation of inspections. Travel to project sites may be required to meet production schedules and ensure compliance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on QA/QC experience in ship repair or marine preservation preferred.
• Proficient with NAVSEA Standard Items and related technical requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret work specifications, drawings and inspection requirements.
• Strong documentation and communication skills; able to maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Perform QA inspections for ship repair activities including tank cleaning, preservation, and flushing.
• Conduct inspections and checkpoints per NAVSEA Standard Items and company procedures.
• Inspect coating application, surface prep, environmental conditions, DFT and final acceptance.
• Verify work complies with technical requirements and manufacturer specs.
• Prepare inspection records, reports, and objective evidence (OQE).
• Coordinate with Production, Project Management, customers, and QA personnel to avoid delays.
