Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT seeks a Project Engineering Supervisor to lead a team of Module Leads and foreman support engineers on SSBN 826/827 construction. You will drive technical guidance, coordinate with operations, and ensure timely engineering support across disciplines.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and experience in shipyard environments, with a focus on schedule-driven challenge resolution and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a shipyard or heavy industry environment.
• Strong project management and scheduling capabilities.
• Root cause analysis and structured problem-solving.
• Professional certification in project management (PMP) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Module Leads and General Foreman Support Engineers with strong technical performance.
• Oversee engineering responses to emergent shipyard issues and communicate assessments clearly to leadership.
• Direct daily team support to trades for disclosures, work packages, and technical clarifications.
• Prioritize and track drawing revisions, change notices, and engineering actions to support schedules.
• Set expectations for participation in production meetings and report holdups and risks.
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering leadership to integrate technical risks into discussions.
• Work closely with Ships Manager to coordinate activities.
• Guide multidisciplinary evaluations supporting manufacturing, construction, testing, and certification events.
• Maintain awareness of shipyard policies and provide informed technical guidance.
