Job summary

Pacific Shipyards International, LLC in Honolulu, HI is seeking an Assistant Pipefitter Superintendent to oversee day-to-day operations in the structural department under the Pipefitter Superintendent. You will be responsible for safety, quality, schedule and budget of all assigned work, and will assist in planning weld projects and repairs with other departments, personnel and customers.

Must have working knowledge of welding types, fabrication materials, and NDT inspection; extensive shipyard

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
• SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW welding experience required.
• Experience with US Navy ship repair/NAVSEA regulation required.
• AWS certification or NAVSEA/ABS certifications preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in shipyard heavy industry.
• Flexible work hours.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of federal contracts.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Executes day-to-day operations within the structural department under the Pipefitter Superintendent.
• Responsible for safety, quality, schedule, and budget of all assigned work.
• Establishes safe working environment and enforces safety policies per OSHA/HIOSH/FAA/EPA where applicable.
• Estimates labor costs and manpower needs for projects; provides bid estimates.
• Prepares reports and communicates with internal/external customers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Leads and develops Foreman, Lead men, and production teams.
• Advises Superintendent on project status, obstacles, and timelines.
